Theme 40 - Bench

Beauty & the Beast

I think this is the ugliest bench I have seen - and there are several of them in this beautiful location.  However, they are  ideally placed to sit and rest weary limbs after (or before?) walking the fells.

I guess they are designed to be functional and long lasting, able to withstand all that the Cumbrian weather throws at them!

Theme 155 - Calendar

My sort of Calendar!

This was tricky to shoot.  I had to get the light just right, otherwise the camera reflected in the iPhone.  I tried photographing it flat on the table, but the light was not good enough, plus reflections of the window.  This way worked, but had to be careful of the chrome - the highlights tend to over-expose.

Good photography exercise, even if the end result is a little mundane.

Hmm, must get a manicure!

Theme 364 - Zig Zag

A Stretch

I think I am pushing the theme a bit here, but I can see "Zig Zags" in this sculpture of a giraffe! I could have put this under the theme "Tall", but that seemed too obvious.

This modern piece of art is in Edinburgh, outside one of the cinemas.

Theme 187 - Broken

A Smashing Time in the Pub

Father being helpful, decided to stack the plates, this dish went with a very loud crash - that shut everyone up for a second or two!

Theme 2 - Laughter

Once my father gets the giggles, he can't stop :-)

Theme 341 - Go Wild

Hmmm, so easy, couldn't resist!

Theme 273 - Wrinkles

Life is such a puzzle

I know, I know, not very imaginative, I have used Rooby for the "Frown" theme, but in all honesty, I took this photo and just wanted to post it, so looked for a theme to match.

She always has this look - so inquisitive, always trying to work out what we are doing.  She stills watches me load the washing machine, I mean every single action, it's as if she is following instructions and making notes.  Today she has been out in the garden most of the day - "helping".

Such a sweetheart.

Theme 19 - Trinket

Model Shoot

I took a ridiculous amount of time on this photo and still not totally happy with it- the arms and legs go in all directions and tricky to balance, the light was fading, I was struggling with the focus points, but hey ho,  it is a lot prettier than the previous post!

Theme 253 - Tender

Ouch!

I stupidly went downstairs, whilst staying at my parents, without putting on the lights - I misjudged the amount of steps and there was an extra one that should not have been there!!

I normally have fairly slim ankles.

PS - Could have titled this one "Twisted" - not the ankle, but me for posting this - lol.

Theme 42 - Fence

Edinburgh proved to be a good source of blog-shots.

Theme 182 - Statue

John Knox - The Great Reformer of Scotland

The sun was reflecting in the window, I realised that if I moved into the right position, it would appear to be sitting in his hand!

Theme 67 - Eyes

Molly - she has such beautiful, soulful eyes, nothing escapes her notice (especially the postman!)

Theme 38 - Such Great Heights

You may have to think about this one! - lol

Theme 35 - Park

A bright, sunny and colourful afternoon in Bitts Park, Carlisle.

Theme 275 - Playdoh

All I have to show from my Ski Holiday

A bit out of sync here I know, I took this snap in March!  I went to France for a skiing holiday and forgot to pack my P&S.  I am by no means a good enough skier to ski and carry my dSLR (which I did pack) let alone stop on the side of a mountain and start taking photos (too worried about getting down safely - well, just getting down actually!).  Consequently, I had no photos to show for my week away in the beautiful French alps - apart from a great holiday.

However, in Migros (supermarket) in the airport I spotted this Playdoh - and I did have my camera bag slung across my shoulders.  Much to the horror of my friend, who quickly disowned me, I got my camera out and hey presto - another pic for my Blog!

Theme 133 - Urban

Edinburgh

A street scene in Edinburgh, Scotland.  I snapped this as I was about to cross the road

Theme 293 - Ladder

Giving a hand up the ladder

We recently had the outside of our house decorated - I was working at my computer and got up to make a cup of tea - as I passed the window, I had a momentary shock to see this view!!  My immediate reaction was that Alan, our decorator, had slipped down the ladder!  A great idea, to use a pair of gloves as a buffer between the ladder and wall.

Theme 204 - Cow

Oh my, what are they doing?

What you can't see here, are 2 of my dogs going absolutely crazy on the other side of the fence (the side without a cow in it) - they were so excited by the cow being so close, they put on quite a perfomance.  The cow just watched - constantly and seemingly bemused.

Theme 246 - Swing

The Child Within

OK, so now my husband can never see my Blog again - I didn't tell him I was posting this!!!

Theme 31 - Boat

Sunny Sunday early evening and in mood to take some pictures - I went for a stroll by the lake and came across these.

Theme 8 - Cat

This old lady took a shine to us as we left the pub Saturday night and wrapped herself around our legs on our way home - very sweet.
