Beauty & the BeastI think this is the ugliest bench I have seen - and there are several of them in this beautiful location. However, they are ideally placed to sit and rest weary limbs after (or before?) walking the fells.
I guess they are designed to be functional and long lasting, able to withstand all that the Cumbrian weather throws at them!

I kind of like it actually! Quite unusual really, as benches go - good find!
Ah, it's an age thing is it - because I really like this bench as well. Solid and well-balanced seems to me which is always attractive.
