OH, I love this! Neat color against the white background. How on earth did you manage to get this shot?

Thanks Julie. It was using my macro lens, handheld. It was taken a couple of weeks ago when I was wandering around the garden desperate to take a picture of something, anything! Noticed this little chap. Watched him for a while actually, fascinating. Never realised they had such big mouths, no wonder they can do so much damage in such short time :)

Still, they have to eat as well.

I took a few photos I liked that day, I wish I had used a tripod though because I have some I really like but are just not sharp enough.

It was taken at 1/250 f2.8 ISO 400,100mm macro It was not a very bright day but with the white background (our house) wide aperture and high ISO, I managed to get the speed high enough not to show the camera shack.

Wow, handheld, very well done. You nailed the focus exactly where it's needed, on the eyes and head, with rest fading to blur.

Nice colors and composition as well.

This is beautiful! I just HAVE TO get myself a macro lense, it seems like such fun.

Stunning photo!

This is amazing! I absolutely love it! It actually brings backs memories from when my sister and I used to collect little snails that lived in salt water by my grandfathers house. Sadly, the ones that didn't crawl out died because we put fresh water in their bucket - but still a good memory of collecting them with my sister.
