PenniesMy Father gave these to me in 1966, the year the "old penny" was last minted. What you can't see or feel here is the size and weight - they are big and heavy. The UK then decimalized and new currency was bought in My father said to hang on to them as one day they might be worth a lot more than 4p. He was probably right, but certainly not in my lifetime! However, I did keep them, put them in the box shown in the photograph, along with 2 pieces of cotton wool. They have moved everywhere with me, strange really, as I am not a collector at all but I will be keeping these pennies.

Your arrangement of the coins and the box is perfect. And I love reading all the stories that everyone is putting with their pix. Isn't it interesting? At the end of the year, we should all know each other a lot better.
This is a nice presentation of your coins. Funny the things we can't part with, isn't it? (Oh, sentimental would be a good theme for the list next year!)
What Linda said! I got a lot of coins from my Granddad, years ago. I must still have them somewhere, presumably in the loft, as I don't think I'd have thrown them out. I hope not!
