This castle has been in the "Northumberland" family for generations. Dowager Lady Egremont is still in residence (the family history gets very confusing). To read more about this interesting estate and heritage see here & here.Took this today, it actually looked OK but need to adjust the exposure in the foreground as I exposed for the sky. Experimented with the preset "Surreal Edgy Effect" and added the preset "Sunset". I think the effects work for this image, it makes it look like a painting.

Powerful combination... the Surreal effect is always so dramatic on its own I have to slowly absorb an image with it.
Like the tones a lot and inclusion of the foreground; makes the castle distant and secluded, its stories perhaps "out of reach".
Wow! Pat's right, those two presets are great together. How are you applying two presets to one image (since usually one preset cancels out the settings of the previously applied preset)?
It does look like a painting, with those presets - quite an unusual effect! Well done though!
Julie, most presets do cancel out the previous, however, I have noticed that a handful "build". I find out which by trial & error.
Not too sure of the overall effect, just felt like doing something a bit different, but good to play;-)
