I have been feeling a bit negative about my photography lately and deleting masses of photos. I came to this one and suddenly saw it with fresh eyes. This was taken early March and completely discounted. It was a batch I hadn't sorted and deleted as I normally do these days.
I love this shot, the effects around the outside interest me and frame the subject. Close up, Molly's coat looks like an oil painting and despite the obvious motion blur, the dogs are clearly identified capturing their fierce play - and yes, this is how they play!
A little tweaking in Lightroom, 1/3 stop increase in exposure, some added black, a slight S-curve and Matt's darkening vignette.
Would really welcome any opinions on this one.

I love that too! I can't even imagine how you got that shot! The panned background looks fantastic. You might adding a bit of sharpening and a clarity boost in LR if you haven't already...
I like it to, it really speaks to me and has lots of motion, but great colours.
I know what it's like with having a dip photography wise, I have been taking loads of photos lately, but I am not happy with them at all. I am also thinking I might find my "edge" again if I buy a new lense?
I love you photos, so keep up the good work!
Thanks Julie & Mia, and thanks for your comments and support - which I need at the moment. Knew I would get it of course :-). Strange how we beat ourselves up.
Jullie, I have no idea how I got the shot either - lol. I looked to check what I had done to it already and look at the Exif info - but can't find the photo in Lightroom now! Weird. I probably did do a clarity boost, because it is such a part of my workflow - but a chance I may not have done with this one.
I like the action of the shot - you can tell that for all the ferocity of the dog in the centre, it's just play.
I totally understand a dip in confidence or enjoyment of photography. I think it's safe to say we all get them - mine usually coincide with a low mood and/or a lack of taking photos. If I stop taking them, I start to lose the desire to take them, and if that combines with a bit of a low mood (usually around that time of the month).
You know, it's 12 of 12 this Saturday (12th of the month). Nothing like a crazy little challenge making you take a lot of photos in one day to get you back into taking photographs! There's a link to the 12 of 12 on the top left of my Blog if you're interested. Whether you try it or not, I hope the photo funk clears, because I know it's not fun [hug]
Helen, thanks.
I am inclined to agree - of course my photography is not where it should be at the moment - I really haven't been taken enough photos.
I like the idea of the 12 of 12, not too sure of the rules and I will be in the middle of a 4 day course on Saturday - but still inclined to give it a go - free up the creative side by not being so cerebral about it all of the time!!
